Park Lodge has undergone a significant refurbishment over the past eighteen months and we are proud to unveil phase one of our modernisation. This ongoing update is part of a wider plan to upgrade the hotel whilst causing minimum disruption to our guests.
The success of Park Lodge to date is thanks to local couple Vince and Alison Morgans and has been a popular place to stay in Aberystwyth since our opening in 2000, remaining in the hands of the our family to this day.
Just a short walk from the town centre and seafront, Park Lodge provides an ideal base for those looking to explore Aberystwyth, which is fast earning itself a reputation as a top Welsh tourist spot. With its beautiful sea views, coastal walks, mountain bike trails and golf courses, it’s no wonder it is popular with holidaymakers and business travellers alike. Park Lodge offers a welcome alternative to the accommodation available on Aberystwyth’s seafront, with plenty of parking and its own restaurant, whilst still being easily accessible from the town.
Our modernisation project has enabled us to further cement our brand and identity within the local area. Working alongside local interior designers, Design House Wales, the whole café and bar area was refurbished to create a warmer, more modern environment, and Park Kitchen was born.
Initially, our intention was to continue the works with the update of twelve bedrooms per year. However, when COVID hit, we made the decision to strip back all the hotel’s bedrooms, tackling them all in one go. Park Lodge’s refurbishment has been the result of years of learning from guest experience, forming the basis for focus areas such as quality beds, strong WiFi, good showers and restaurant facilities. Our hotel now boasts 37 luxury bedrooms with state-of-the-art facilities, including smart TVs, rainfall showers and luxury mattresses.
Over a million pounds has been spent on Park Lodge’s makeover to date, and we aren’t stopping there. Over the course of the coming year, works to improve the outside facilities, and an extension is planned to introduce a further twenty hotel rooms and a larger kitchen, further adding to our guests’ experience.
